report of library

Library in TAFE
Each TAFE in Sydney has a library providing a supportive learning environment for all current students.

All currently enrolled students can borrow from TAFE library, but the proof of enrolment is required. To join the library you will need the TAFE card..

You can borrow up to 6 print items plus 4 audio visual items at a time. The print items include books and magazines. You can borrow items for 2 weeks except videos which are for 1 week only. You can find information about items at each library and you also can search the library catalogue from home.

If you want to keep your borrowings for longer time, you need to renew them. Renewals can be done in person, over the phone or online. You have two chances to renew the borrowings, so you can keep them for 6 weeks in maximum.
Items must be returned to the libraries from where they are borrowed. The library open from 9am to 8pm. You cannot return books after-hours as the whole building will be closed at that time.

You can make photocopies or print from the library computers as long as you have money in your TAFE card. It charges you 20 cents per A4 page. You will get 50% off if you join the Student Association ($20 per year).
The library also provides other services such as helping students with their assignment. For ESL students, it’s a good idea to use library dictionary before they can find the best one.

All in all, understanding above rules will facilitate you borrowing from the library. You can go to the information desk in the library or contact the library staff for further details.
